美国主机IXWebhosting速度优化

相信很多朋友和我一样，当初选择海外主机的时候“不慎”选择了IXWebhosting。当然，其实IXWebhosting的价格并不是很有优势，选择的原因一是当时Godaddy还未支持支付宝，而且IX的独立IP还是很让人眼红的。IXWebhosting的服务器其实并不差，性能测试来看相当好，带宽也很足，我在VPS下载IX上的数据可以达到8M/s的速度。但是他的缺点就是对于中国的速度并不快，两方面原因，一来是其机房在美国中部，物理距离造成不可避免的延时，再者就是其走到中国电信的线路的是传说中抽风大户Level 3（只是部分IP，我也碰到不是走L3的IP）。所以说用IX作服务于国外用户的英文站或是外贸站还是非常好的，但是如果要服务于天朝用户就有些吃力了。于是当时既然买了（因为几个哥们合买的，他们觉得凑合啊），还是要用的，怎么用呢，首先，IX服务器性能还是很好的，跑站是非常流畅的，我将他作为后台支撑，然后在Las Vegas用Nginx + proxy_cache构建CDN，这样虽然等于放弃了IX的优势，独立IP，但也不用使用IX的共享IP，同样是自己几个站公用IP，只要自己不出问题就不怕墙，CDN本身对静态内容（伪静态也算）又具有缓存作用，减少原空间CPU负担，而主机走的线路(目前来说)电信是PCCW，虽然不比Peer1的电信直连，但总体速度稳定性上还是相当不错的。

ixwebhosting空间在国内的访问速度不理想，分别用中国网通和中国电信的ADSL测试，ping值白天在280多～290多ms，晚上7点以后总是在300多～400多ms。使用了10个月，明年准备换其它的服务器。我在2009年2月4日开始使用ixwebhosting的空间，隔几天会有很短的一段时间不能访问，还是可以接受，总体还是很稳定。ixwebhosting唯一美中不足的是，在论坛里大家都讨论过，因为中美线路的原因，ixwebhosting比其它主机慢。无论使用中国电信，还是中国网通访问ixwebhosting，都会比其它主机慢。我的Godaddy免费空间的ping值约是230多～260多，晚上7点以后的网络高峰，仍在300ms以内。
www.lunarpages.com网站的ping值约是260多ms。
www.ipower.com网站的ping值是100零几～110多ms。
www.powweb.com网站的ping值与www.ipower.com差不多。
Godaddy，Lunarpages，HostMonster，Bluehost等国外空间的速度，都很接近国内空间。国外十大主机里，ixwebhosting可能在国内唯一访问较慢的主机。ipower可能是因为服务器在新加坡的原因，所以速度相当快。我下一步可能会选用Godaddy或lunarpages的空间，因为ixwebhosting总是要比它们慢一些。ping值对访问速度确实影响很大，230ms～260ms，与国内空间的访问速度基本上差不多。

刚开始买ixwebhosting空间的时候也是犹豫了很久，但最终由于各种优惠和其它原因我买下了它。然后对它最关注的就是ixwebhosting速度问题，前面我也通过各种方式测试了ixwebhosting的速度，也有很多朋友是通过搜索“ixwebhosting速度”访问到我的博客上面来的，所以我也很想跟大家说说我的使用情况，希望对来访者有一定的帮助。
刚买的时候我也搜索了ixwebhosting空间，大多都是提到速度问题，而且很多也提到速度不行，建议不要买，但是我买了发现速度确实不怎么样，后来打算退掉，但是域名都注册了，要退的话要退域名钱，就只能勉强用着，down了一次，跟客服联系了下，半个小时解决了问题。之后有一次突然想起做一个新站，发现速度已经比以前快了一倍，那么可想而知，当初的速度是多么慢了，所以那个时候都用了，现在更加喜欢用了。
最后结论是ixwebhosting速度越来越好，越来越被我所接受。本博客就是在这个空间上，希望来的人帮忙测试下速度，也希望能够留个言。
